Open The Flood Gates of Love

Sometimes a storm brushes our coat or glistens our skin.

Sometimes a storm comes down a bit harder,

allowing our spirit to get down and fear to creep in.

Sometimes the storm crashes and wipes our possessions away.

We gather to help one another....and sometimes struggle with the right words to say.

We cry over things that are lost, but our boots are still traipsing through mud with vibrant beating hearts.

The Lord said we would have trouble, but promised us eternal life and love!

May we be renewed by the Holy Spirit who spreads love faster than any flooding wall of water can shove.....because today the water is still. The only currents visible now, are of love and support that grows stronger each day. If you are weak, cling to the truth that Jesus taught us. Do something for someone or accept a love offering from another. Open all ten flood gates of love. May it help the hands and hearts of our town wash away the muddy loss, and restore what was lost with clear faith. I am overwhelmed by gratefulness, as I stare at the light of this bridge that reflects on a glassy, still lake. May we embrace the love and activate our faith. Love and share with others what the flood did not break. God give us strength to worry less about the possessions we can hold, carry or take.
