Summer is a time for my family to unwind and get geared up for another school year. My husband and I are both teachers and good golly, these Texas teachers need a break after a year of teaching and coaching. I understand not everyone is off for a month in the summer, so I came up with five ways to add some love to your summer regardless of your schedule!
1. Make Time For Self Love!
I know ourselves are always the last on our list to care for, but pencil in at least one activity a week that fills your bucket! Get a pedicure, have coffee with a friend, go to your favorite art gallery or just read a novel!
2. Write A Love Note!
Make time once a week to plan a date with your child, spouse or friend! Surprise them with a little love note telling them why you love them and what they mean to you!
3. Love Your Community!
Plan to volunteer once a month at your favorite charity, or gather unwanted items to donate once a month. Have a donate basket in a designated place in your home. When you come across things that do not fit or are no longer needed, place them in the basket! To cut down on clutter and love on others, deliver your unwanted items to a donate center once a month.
4. Love What You Already Have!
Make a list of things you are grateful for and take a 10 minute walk everyday reciting your list of things you are thankful for. Your heart will be filled with positive energy and your life will begin to reflect it!
5. Affirm Your Love
Write down five things you love about your self, or dream to happen and speak them out loud every morning! For example:
-I love my family
-I love my job (even if you don't)
-I am a best selling author.
-I am a millionaire.
-I will follow my dream to...
After affirming it each day, you will start to work towards it, and start believing it!
This summer is a great time to shift towards joy, love and expecting greatness!
